NOTICE OF VACANCY / CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR CO-OPTION 

 

Are you passionate about your community? Do you want to help make a long-lasting change? Do you have innovative ideas for the council?

Wigtoft Parish Council currently has one vacancy for a Parish Councillor. The council has decided to fill this vacancy by co-option. 

 

If you are interested but unsure, why not attend one (or more) Parish Council meeting to get a feel for what is expected of a Councillor. Contact the clerk for more information about this.

 

The Role
This is a volunteer role that involves attending monthly council meetings and representing the views of local people. Training is available, and the role is incredibly rewarding. 

 

Who are we looking for?
We need people from all backgrounds and experiences to reflect our community. You must have an interest in local issues and a willingness to commit time to the role. 

 

Eligibility
You must be over 18 and a British/Commonwealth/EU citizen. You must also meet one of the following criteria: 

  • Registered as a local government elector for the parish.
  • Resided in the parish (or within 3 miles) for the past 12 months.
  • Your main place of work is in the parish. 

How to Apply
If you are interested, please request and complete our application form outlining:

  1. Who you are and your connection to the parish.
  2. Why you want to become a councillor.
  3. What skills or experience you can bring to the council.
